Finnish AV Production Incentive: online application process now open with increased total budget

Finnish parliament raised the amount of audiovisual production incentive of Finland by 2 million euros in its final decision-making session in December. This brings the total amount of production incentive to 12 million euros in 2024. The application period for the cash rebate starts today.

The online funding service opens January 2, 2024 at 8:15 A.M. EET. Minimum requirements for the production incentive have not seen any changes to the previous year, but the application and reporting of the rebate has a few improvements such as changes in conditional decision deadlines, combined cost and content report, and new follow-up questions. The process is now even more streamlined, user-friendly, and fast, with funding decisions made in 40 days and payments in 21 days. Please familiarize yourself with the contents of the application and the list of compulsory attachments before applying at Business Finland's cash-rebate website.

Finland’s production incentive accepts costs incurred in Finland from the production of an audiovisual project, including pre- and post-production. We fund feature films, documentary films, serial fiction and animation productions.

Interest towards the Finnish AV incentive has increased significantly in recent years, after being launched in 2017. Subsequent years have seen foreign productions discovering Finland in greater numbers, and Finnish crews and services have garnered a growing reputation for their efficiency and skill.
